As they search for the lost ball, Christopher meets the lively Gooseberry Boys, kind Mrs Bramley Apple, proud Mrs Cabbage, musical Mr Pear and the grumpy Old Man Blackcurrant.
Through this charming children’s fantasy story, Christopher discovers the fruits, berries and vegetables growing in his garden and learns how they prepare for the coming autumn. Elsa Beskow’s enchanting illustrations fill every page with colourful characters and nature scenes that invite children to linger and explore the details.
